Munduk is a district in Central Bali where you can still find real wilderness. Pristine crater lakes, serene waterfalls and misty jungle alternate with village plantations and rice terraces in the hills.
You will drive through the mountain tracks and dirt roads of Munduk by Finn Komodo ATVs, which are special off-road buggies designed in Indonesia just for such terrain, and also sturdy mountain bikes.
Choose where you wish to go. We offer a choice of two routes.
Haunted valley: hills, rice terraces and a waterfall
This is a big adventure where you cover 24 km during a 5-hours trip combining Finn Komodo and mountain bikes (2 h 30 min by ATV, 30 min by bike). Bikes are optional.
You start at 10:00 at Munduk base camp with a refreshing welcome drink, some safety instructions and introduction for driving the buggies.
A most exciting 2 hours ATV drive starts now! Your route goes through dirt tracks by Kayu Pandak Hills, Devil’s rock ( challenging even for ATVs), beautiful rice fields. You arrive at The Green Circuit. It’s perfect to go racing with the other guests, a couple of rounds will really get your adrenaline pumping!
Then you get on a mountain bike for a 30-min ride to explore the dirt path at a local plantation. Enjoy your Picnic lunch afterward.
Your journey by ATVs continues. Next stop in Bengkel village, which is famous for its picturesque rice terraces. You are going for a 30-min walk in the rice fields. Return to your buggy. A short drive will take you to a scenic waterfall in the jungle. It’s a short 10-min walk to go down to the waterfall.
Indulge yourself to a swim in the refreshing water of the stream. It feels so good on a hot day!
It’s time to return to the base camp. A delicious and substantial early dinner will be served there for you.
Luwak Trail: coffee plantation, jungle, a lake and a temple
During this expedition, you will cover 20 km of distance. This 4,5 hours journey includes 2,5 hours of ATV driving, 45 minutes rainforest walk and 30 minutes log canoeing.
Meet at 10.30 a.m. at the base camp for your introduction, safety instructions for driving the Finn Komodo and a welcome drink.
Start with a fun drive down to Tamblingan Lake. A side-excursion takes you to a lakeside temple. Then you board log canoes and paddle in the lake.
Head up into more challenging territory through mandarin and coffee orchards. Drive along the dirt track to the rainforest. Take a break for a short walk into the forest, to see the grandeur of trees more than 100 years old.
Bali is famous for the rich flavor of its coffee, and so after a gentle downhill drive, we stop at a coffee plantation. Here you will experience some of Bali’s local coffee culture — the roasting of the beans on an open fire and pounding with a wooden pestle. Savor the aroma and taste.
At last, we arrive at the Green Circuit, where you will enjoy a couple of rounds of racing fun to get your adrenaline pumping!
Afterward return to the base camp. It’s just a short 20-minute drive. Your early dinner is ready at the camp. Enjoy it before going back to your hotel.
