Enjoy your trip to the beautiful Gili Islands. Gili Trawangan is known as the “party island”. Gili Air is very mellow, it’s a perfect place to relax and live in harmony with nature.
Surrounding waters are perfect for snorkeling and diving. You can see sea turtles, underwater statues and coral gardens.
These islands are very small. You can walk around the whole island in just a few hours. Fastboat trip to Gili from Padang Bai Harbor in Bali takes just a couple of hours. Gili has long attracted travelers in search of perfect beaches and simple carefree life.
We will make your trip to Gili really easy and enjoyable. Here's how it will be:
We will pick you up at your hotel early in the morning. You will go to go to Padang Bai harbor by a comfortable air-conditioned car. This is a very beautiful bay with a nice beach and azure water. There you will transfer to a speed boat. Onboard you will be offered unlimited mineral water and candy. And by noon you will be on the Gili Islands. The first stop is Gili Trawangan, then Gili Air. The third stop is on the island of Lombok (Senggigi harbor).
And here's what awaits you on the islands.
On Gili Trawangan and Gili Air life is laid-back and full of rustic charm. Relax on the beaches with calm sea, soft white sand, numerous little beachside cafes. There are no cars or motorbikes to disturb the peace. The only means of transport are bicycles or horse-drawn carts, locally known as “Cidomos” (cheedomos).
The Gili Islands first became popular in the 1980s, especially among backpackers and those who were seeking to escape. The waters are still crystal clear and teeming with marine life, the beaches are of pure white sand. Here, you can snorkel straight off the beach and enjoy a timeless paradise lifestyle.
Gili Trawangan
This is the most famous of the three Gili Islands. It is also the largest island, complete with a small hill at its southern end. Gili Trawangan is known as the party island thanks to the many wild parties held at its bars and restaurants.
As with all of the Gili Islands, there is no motorised transport on Gili Trawangan, just cidomo (horse and cart) transport and plenty of bicycles available for rent. The walk around Gili Trawangan takes one and a half hours if you walk fast. Electricity is generator supplied and fresh water is brought in by boat.
Gili Air
Much of the development on Gili Air is on the east coast, facing Lombok and the towering Mt Rinjani, which provides spectacular sunrises, while sunsets behind Mt Agung on Bali are visible from the south and western coasts. On the western side of the island when the moon is high and the tide is low, it is not possible to swim off the beach.
But it’s easy to walk to the south or east side, where the best beaches are, with clear turquoise waters and soft white sand. Diving facilities are plenty and there is good snorkeling directly from the shore, particularly from the east and northeast beaches.
Lombok
After Gili islands, our boat stops at Lombok island. It’s a big island, roughly the same size and as Bali. The tourism boom has yet to hit Lombok, and it remains similar to the pre-tourist Bali of 10 years before. Undeveloped forests lend to the green landscapes, that form the backdrop to the many rice fields. The panoramic view is a wonderful blend of fields and mountains, all equally beautiful. There are beautiful beaches for swimming and surfing. You can go trekking to Rinjani volcano to challenge yourself and enjoy fantastic views of pristine nature.
